David Ste Marie, won the bronze medal in the 79 kg category.
The Mauritian wrestler secured his place on the podium after his victory against the South African, Donald Mabusela. David Ste Marie was engaged in three matches during this continental meeting. He therefore recorded two victories, notably against the Ivorian Assane Alexis Ballo and the South African Donald Mabusela and a defeat against Youssef Ait Boulahri.
It was the Algerian, Chems Eddine Fetairia, who won the gold medal.
The other representative of Mauritius, Guyliane Bandou finished at the 9th place in the 61 kg category.
