The goal to obtain a podium has been achieved for Mauritius at the Senior African Championships, in Algeria. The Mauritius team comprised of Prathna Jalim, Oumehani Hosenally, Ruqayyah Kinoo and Ivana Descann won the bronze medal. In the group stage, they recorded a victory against Morocco and a defeat against Algeria. Qualified for the quarter finals, they beat Angola to advance to the semi-finals, before losing to Tunisia.
